Learning Enrichment

At Peace Lutheran Primary School, we believe that each student is unique and has the capacity to learn. We understand that students have different learning styles and interests and may learn at a different pace or in a different way to their peers. With a diverse range of abilities within each year level, we recognise that some students have additional learning needs and require assistance to help them achieve success at a level suitable to them.

Our Learning Enrichment team works in partnership with all classroom teachers to carefully monitor and support student progress. Students with a disability, learning difficulty or learning difference are identified and the most appropriate forms of support are developed to meet their individual needs. Support may include inclusive assistance within the classroom provided by a member of the Learning Enrichment Team; targeted support for individual students or small groups through planned learning experiences delivered by the classroom teacher; or participation in small‑group or one‑to‑one intervention programs led by trained Learning Enrichment staff.

We believe that collaboration between the Learning Enrichment Team, classroom teachers, parents and students is essential to ensuring successful education outcomes. As such, all stakeholders work in partnership to support each student’s learning progress.

Intervention Programs

Intensive intervention programs from the MultiLit suite of programs are utilised within our school to provide literacy intervention for students who are struggling with oral language or reading. These programs include LanguageLift, MiniLit Sage, MacqLit and Reading Tutor.

Students who meet the program requirements complete these programs in a small group or one-on-one situations with staff who are specially trained to deliver the programs.

Small group, intensive numeracy intervention is also provided by specially trained Learning Enrichment staff using the Explicit Maths Program. As part of this intervention, students focus on strengthening foundational number concepts.
